No pin and no recovery phrase = no access. I’d recommend looking through his things to see if you can find where his safe place is for the recovery phrase. Also any DMs you get from people that can “help” just ignore them as it’s just people trying to scam ya.

There is no way to recover access unless you have the PIN or you find the 24-word seed phrase (he may have written it on a piece of paper or card, and saved it at a safe place like in a safe or with some other precious papers).

Trying PINs you are not sure are correct, is not recommended, since after 3 bad PINs, the ledger would reset, so then, even if you later find the correct PIN, you would have permanently lost access already.
