      Vielen Dank

For a “crypto-only” environment, you could simply run your laptop or desktop with a Linux live image (e.g. Slax).

I’d argue this will provide little or no security benefit. Instead:

      1. Use a hardware wallet from a reputable vendor. (Trezor One is what I use.)
      2. Never, **ever** type your seed phrase into any keyboard.

And you will be in good shape.

No, don’t do it. You will lose everything.

There is no way of doing that safely without overcomplicating it. First issue is that you think Ethernet over WiFi is something that would help. A computer where you keep a crypto wallet should never, *ever* connect to the internet.

And, why would you even want to do that in the first place? Just buy a hardware wallet, which has the best security in the world for non-astronomical budget. Having a computer dedicated to crypto is a waste. Just sell it if you don’t need it anymore, buy a proper hardware wallet with actual security done by experts, and have plenty of money left over.

The older the device, the higher the risk of exploits.

Only have the essentials so pretty much a good browser and your crypto apps/programs .

Use a VPN at all times.

Use Malware protection at all times.

Don’t use the device for anything other than crypto (e.g – no internet browsing, gaming, etc..).

Always keep the OS and programs on it up-to-date.

Use hardware wallets and have good security habits such as using 2-factor authentication and strong passwords for everything.

Have a secure backup of all your data and then backup your backup.

      Use common sense.

My trezor is a crypto-only computer, also know as a single purpose computer.

It can only do crypto stuff, nothing else.
