It is impossible for someone to create a fake ledger hardware or tamper with it, then install the genuine firmware in it so that it passes the genuine test.

But if you ran out of paranoia medication, you can open the device and check its hardware.

Ledger Live checks the authenticity of the device on setup, and every time you access the Manager. It won’t pass the check if your device have been tampered with.

If you’ve acquired the device directly from Ledger or a verified reseller, there’s probably no direct need to check the hardware. But it doesn’t hurt either, better safe than sorry…

i think this will screw up ur warranty so if device less than 2 years old i would not do it

if it pass genuine check and ur ledger generate ur 24 words for u its perfectly safe
