Not defending ledger tho, it’s just crypto-related software/hardware owners and makers are more likely to be aimed for scams/hacks of any sort imo. So as long as you don’t fall for those phishing mails, leak you recovery phrase or sign smart contracts without knowing what you’re doing you’re fine.

And this applies for either hardware/cold or hot wallets.

dont let that stop you from buying a cold wallet, not getting one will bring even more risk. however pretend a leak will happen again, and take the necessary measures now to prevent as much damage when it does. getting your name, address, email, phone number leaked isn’t a simple matter in this space.

my friends life has pretty much changed after the leak even until this day and he’s rightfully paranoid but hes just accepted it for what it is. 5 spam calls a day, a couple physical mails a year about a newly opened bank account or the next crypto coin, and one sim swap which lead to the hacking of a coinbase account (which was thankfully empty and hes raised his security since). the dumb part is that he has insignificant funds in his ledger and he got caught up in all this.

Verlockt, meine erste kalte Wallet Gerät zu bekommen, aber wirklich besorgt um meine Privatsphäre, da dieses Forum mit Geschichten und schweift über immer in Phishing-Anruf / E-Mail-Tornados nach dem Kauf Ledger mit echten Informationen gefüllt ist.

Also sollte ich immer noch einen falschen Namen, Adresse zu irgendeinem Höllenloch, wo ich es abholen mit einem Prepaid-Telefonnummer oder bin ich in der Lage, es zu bestellen, ohne völlig vernichtet von Betrügern / schlechte Menschen?

It was a 1 time leak back in 2020, via Ledger’s e-commerce partner Shopify. There hasn’t been any leak reported since then.
